It is worth noting that Timor-Leste is an Asian nation where internet development is on the rise, presenting a significant opportunity to spread the Gospel of Christ.

Through AWR currently every month around 200 to 500 people contact the call center to receive special prayers for their various life struggles.

and some radio listeners who have followed the Bible study online and some have taken part in baptism.

To reach deeper, AWR Timor-Leste, in addition to broadcasting via the 92.3 FM frequency, also spreads the gospel message about Christ through radio streaming on around 27 online streaming stations, and runs 24 hours a day, this makes it one of the radio stations that is able to broadcast messages in various languages, including Indonesian, English, Tetun, Portuguese,

In addition to digital broadcasting, AWR Timor-Leste is also involved in distributing GOD PODS to villages far from city centers and remote areas, where each GOD PODS distributed is equipped with the message of God’s Word in Tetun (one of the official languages in Timor-Leste besides Portuguese).

AWR Timor-Leste Manager Eppy Manu revealed that the biggest challenge in sharing the message of salvation in Timor-Leste via radio is ensuring that the content is culturally appropriate. “We have to find the right opportunities for engaging Bible discussions, and that requires a strong research team. The situation in this country is different from other countries,” he explained.

He also continued that AWR Timor-Leste is currently one of the radio stations with the highest demand on social media through the development of digital content through social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. “In our country, social media is currently very popular, currently Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok have become the center of interaction for everyone, and we are an important part of that development, so that every month our social media listenership is very high, even reaching around 10,000 listeners every week on social media,” he explained.

He continued, hoping for full support from Adventist World Radio to help spread the word of salvation in Timor-Leste. “We need help because we currently have many shortcomings, so sometimes we have to look for content ideas through used items that have been thrown away in the trash and we take them and manage them to decorate our studio, so that it looks good to see in front of the camera,” he said.
